The Parapharmacy and Drugstore Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a retail drugstore and parapharmacy, ensuring the delivery of high-quality customer service, compliance with regulations, and optimal sales performance.
This individual will lead a team of pharmacy and sales staff, manage inventory, maintain a safe and clean store environment, and ensure the efficient operation of the pharmacy’s non-prescription products.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Store Operations Management:
– Supervise the day-to-day operations of the drugstore, including managing the parapharmacy section (non-prescription products such as health, beauty, wellness, and personal care items).
– Ensure the store is well-stocked with required pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products.
– Manage opening and closing of the store, handle cash registers, and supervise cash transactions.
2. Inventory Management:
– Oversee inventory levels for both pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical items, ensuring timely reordering and restocking of products.
– Monitor and manage stock levels, implement stock rotation to avoid expired products.
– Liaise with suppliers to maintain product availability and negotiate prices where applicable.
3. Compliance & Quality Assurance:
– Ensure the store adheres to all relevant health and safety regulations, pharmacy laws, and company policies.
– Monitor and enforce proper handling, storage, and disposal of pharmaceutical products, as well as any over-the-counter medications.
– Ensure customer privacy is maintained and confidential health information is protected in line with legal and ethical standards.
4. Staff Management:
– Hire, train, and supervise staff, ensuring they are knowledgeable about products and customer service expectations.
– Provide coaching and performance reviews for team members, fostering a positive, motivated work environment.
– Schedule shifts and manage staffing levels to meet customer demand.
5. Customer Service:
– Ensure an exceptional level of customer service is provided at all times, addressing any customer complaints or issues promptly.
– Provide expert advice to customers regarding non-prescription health, wellness, and pharmaceutical products.
– Promote and advise on wellness programs or health-related events in-store.
6. Sales & Marketing:
– Develop strategies to boost sales of over-the-counter products and other services offered by the store.
– Coordinate in-store promotions, events, or campaigns to drive traffic and sales.
– Analyze sales data to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
7. Financial Management:
– Monitor and control operating costs and ensure that the store is meeting its financial targets.
– Prepare and review budgets, manage expenditures, and ensure cost-effective practices are followed.
8. Technology & Systems:
– Utilize pharmacy management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems to track sales, manage inventory, and monitor operations.
– Ensure proper training and usage of these systems by staff.
Qualifications:
Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy, Healthcare Administration, Business Management, or related field(preferred).
– Certification or training in retail pharmacy management (preferred).
Experience:
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail pharmacy or drugstore management, including experience managing teams.
– Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, health, and wellness products, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
Skills:
– Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
– Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
– Ability to analyze sales trends and manage inventory effectively.
– Proficiency in retail management software and pharmacy systems.
Licenses/Certifications:
– Pharmacy license (if required in the region) or appropriate certifications.

– Occasional lifting of boxes or stock items weighing up to 25-30 lbs.

As a pharmaceutical technician you will typically be on the frontline, ensuring the smooth operations in our Online Stores. You will deal with Customers, process their Orders, manage inventory, ensure timely deliveries, and ensure that the Customer Service levels are within our Service guidelines. Your day will be filled with varied tasks, including marketing as well as administrative duties.
What Does a Pharmaceutical Technician Do?
As a pharmaceutical technician, you will be working under our Operations Director, as all the Healthcare or Drugstore Products we sell are Over-the-Counter, and Non-Prescription medicines.

1. Effectively Communicate with Customers:
As a pharmaceutical technician, you will be the first line of contact with our Customers.
You are managing the Process that a Customer goes through from selecting products, to purchase, and the safe delivery of them.
2. Process Orders:
You need to ensure that all Orders received for Parapharmacy and Drugstore Products are packed appropriately depending on what it requires. It needs to be Delivered in a Timely manner, with effective communication with the Customer keeping them updated from Purchase, all the way through to the Delivery of the items.
3. Prepare and Package Parapharmacy and Drugstore Products:
The next and most important duty is preparing the Over-the-Counter Drugstore Products, and Parapharmacy Products. You must ensure the packages are labelled correctly.
4. Manage Inventory:
Ensure proper storage of drugs depending on their Ingredients and storage instructions.
Check that the Warehouse Inventory, and our London Distribution Centre Inventory is Accurate and checked on a Daily basis.
Qualifications:
Education:
– Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field (preferred).
– Certificates or Qualifications in English, and Mathematics is required at C/Merit minimum.
Experience:
– Minimum 3-5 years of experience in retail pharmacy or drugstore management, including experience managing teams.
– Knowledge of pharmaceuticals, health, and wellness products, as well as relevant laws and regulations.

Essential skills and requirements:
